Why what you listen to is just as important as what you eat

Let’s start with a little story.

A few years back, I was sat in the green room at a festival, post-soundcheck, tucking into a salad with chickpeas, avocado and a splash of lemon juice. A DJ walked past, nodded at my plate and said, “Very LA of you.”

I smiled, but what I really wanted to say was, “Mate, you should hear what I had in my headphones this morning.” Because while I’d just fed my body something nourishing, I’d also spent the morning listening to 528 Hz – the so-called ‘love frequency’ – and that, in my world, is just as important as kale.

Here’s the thing no one’s talking about (yet): what you listen to is just as vital to your wellbeing as what you put on your plate.

You could be eating all the superfoods in the world, but if your playlists are full of songs pumped out in 440 Hz with dark, aggressive lyrics, you might be feeding your mind and nervous system a heavy dose of emotional junk.

Let’s unpack that.

Why what you listen to is just as important as what you eat

What’s wrong with 440 Hz?

The standard tuning used in most Western music is 440 Hz – but that hasn’t always been the case.

Before it became the norm, instruments were tuned to 432 Hz, a more natural resonance said to be in harmony with the frequency of the Earth and human biology.

Studies suggest that 432 Hz music can reduce anxiety and bring a greater sense of calm. One peer-reviewed study in the Journal of Addiction Therapy and Research (Scarpino et al., 2017) found that listening to music tuned to 432 Hz significantly reduced heart rate and improved feelings of wellbeing compared to 440 Hz.

Yet, most of today’s mainstream music still uses 440 Hz. Combine that with lyrics rooted in fear, aggression, toxicity, or despair, and you’ve got a powerful cocktail that’s doing more than just playing in the background.

It’s vibing your cells in all the wrong ways.

I’ve seen it first-hand. I work with music lovers and soul seekers who come to me feeling low-energy, anxious or disconnected, and no one has ever asked them what frequencies they’re listening to day in, day out. They’ve cleaned up their diet, they’ve done yoga, they drink green juice. But their Spotify is still stuck in a loop of dissonant tunes.

This is where The 9 Solfeggio Frequency Program comes in.

If you’re new to this world, the Solfeggio Frequencies are a set of ancient tones, each one said to have a unique healing property – from reducing fear (396 Hz), to encouraging change (417 Hz), to reconnecting with love (528 Hz).

I’ve built an entire course around these, blending sound, voice, and guided meditation to support emotional wellness and clarity. It’s helped hundreds of people come back to centre, and it can help you too.

Think of it like this:

If you’re filling your body with junk food, your energy drops.
If you’re filling your ears with sonic junk, your vibe drops.

So now, let’s flip that.

Vibe and Thrive with the 9 Solfeggio Frequencies

Let’s talk nutrition – what you eat and what you listen to…

The gut-brain connection is well documented. What you eat affects your mood, your focus, your hormones and your overall energy. But beyond just cutting out sugar or adding in magnesium, there’s something deeper going on.

Are you eating to feel nourished and balanced – or just to tick a box?

That was the shift for me. I used to swing between sugar highs and crashes, grabbing food in between sessions or before shows, and wondering why I felt frazzled. When I started bringing frequency into my food choices – asking myself what would actually make me feel light, clear and strong – everything changed.

That’s why I created Vibe & Thrive, my online course that’s all about finding that sweet spot where food, frequency and feeling good all align. Inside you’ll find simple guides to plant-based eating, audio tracks including the Radiance Reset Tone™️ to support a healthy metabolism, and practical steps to help you stop the cycle of guilt and restriction.

It’s not a diet. It’s a recalibration.

If you’ve been struggling with fatigue, emotional eating or just want to feel more confident in your body, this is the course for you. Check it out here: Vibe & Thrive.

So what’s the takeaway here?

You’re not broken. You’re just out of tune.

If you’ve tried eating better, moving your body, even going to therapy – and something still feels off – it might be time to check your sound diet.

Are you listening to music that uplifts you?
Or are you stuck in playlists that echo your old emotions back at you?

This isn’t just woo-woo chat. It’s science, it’s frequency, it’s how your body responds to vibrational input. Your cells are always listening. And whether it’s a salad or a solfeggio, they respond.

So if you’re in the awareness phase right now – where something just feels off – start by swapping out some of the songs in your playlist for tracks in 432 Hz or Solfeggio frequencies.

Come tune in.
